What Is Zero Trust?

Zero trust is a security model built on a simple premise: no user, device, or network location is trusted by default, even if it's already inside the corporate network. Every request for access is authenticated and authorized individually, based on identity and context, rather than assuming that being on the right network is proof enough.

This is a direct rejection of the older perimeter model, where anything inside the firewall was implicitly trusted. That model breaks down once employees work remotely, applications live in multiple clouds, and a single stolen credential can otherwise move freely once it's past the perimeter.

MaskFlare Access applies zero trust specifically to application access, replacing network-level VPN trust with per-application, per-request authorization.
