Updated 7 detectorsPack code de

Short answer

Maskflare's Germany pack has 7 detectors. 3 validate a check digit or letter, 2 test layout or an embedded date, 2 match on pattern alone.

What the Germany pack covers

The Germany pack holds 7 detectors: IBAN, ID card / passport number, Licence plate, Phone number, Postal code, Pension insurance number (Rentenversicherungsnummer) and Tax identification number (Steuer-IdNr). 3 of them recompute a check digit or letter, 2 test layout or an embedded date only, 2 are pattern-only, and 3 wait for a keyword before they match.

Examples are synthetic and were run through Maskflare's validators. Click a detector name for its own page where one exists.

Every Germany detector in detail

IBAN

A bank account identifier. Validation: the registered length for the country and the ISO 13616 modulus 97 check. Valid example: DE89 3704 0044 0532 0130 00; the same shape that fails is DE89 3704 0044 0532 0130 01.

ID card / passport number

An identity document number. Validation: the pattern only, with no checksum or structural validator. It needs one of 12 keywords within 48 characters before the value, such as ausweis, ausweisnummer, document number, id card. Valid example: L01X00T47.

Licence plate

A vehicle licence plate. Validation: 4 to 10 letters and digits with at least one of each, shaped by the country's plate formats. It needs one of 20 keywords within 48 characters before the value, such as amtliches kennzeichen, autokennzeichen, kennzeichen, kfz-kennzeichen. Valid example: B-MW 1234.

Phone number

A telephone number in the national format. Validation: between 7 and 15 digits, the range an international number can have. A run of digits with no separator is judged by words nearby; the detector's own keywords include anrufen, appeler, appelez, appelle. Valid example: 0049 30 1234567.

Postal code

A postal code, which identifies a place rather than a person on its own. Validation: the pattern only, with no checksum or structural validator. It needs one of 8 keywords within 48 characters before the value, such as plz, post code, postal code, postcode. Valid example: 10115.

Pension insurance number (Rentenversicherungsnummer)

A social security or social insurance number. Validation: a letter converted to its alphabet position and a weighted digit-sum check. Valid example: 12010180A122; the same shape that fails is 12010180A120. Full guide: German pension insurance number (RVNR).

Tax identification number (Steuer-IdNr)

A tax identifier. Validation: a digit-repetition rule and an ISO 7064 MOD 11,10 check digit. A run of digits with no separator is judged by words nearby; the detector's own keywords include identifikationsnummer, idnr, steuer id, steuer-id. Valid example: 86095742719; the same shape that fails is 86095742710. Full guide: German tax ID (Steuer-ID).

Local-language context words for Germany

These are the words in the catalogue that confirm a value as belonging to this country's detector. Shared English words such as ID number or tax id are left out here because many packs use them; a word below points at this pack even when other packs are on.

  • Licence plate: amtliches kennzeichen, autokennzeichen, kennzeichen, kfz-kennzeichen, licence plate, licence plate number, license plate, license plate number, license tag, number plate, nummernschild, plate and 8 more

  • Postal code: plz, postleitzahl
  • Tax identification number (Steuer-IdNr): identifikationsnummer, idnr, steuer id, steuer-id, steuer-identifikationsnummer, steuerid, steueridentifikationsnummer

How Maskflare masks Germany identifiers

Detections are replaced with a token such as mf_mask_d7e0 before the request goes to the AI provider, and with response restoration turned on the real value is put back in the answer. The other actions are redact, partial, hash, format-preserving encryption, generalize, alert and block.

  • Protect now, Finance - Protect now, Healthcare and Developer: mask (a reversible token) when Germany is a primary country.
  • Monitor first: alert (counted, forwarded unchanged) when Germany is a primary country.

Compliance profiles that include the Germany pack: GDPR - EU/EEA.

Limits worth knowing

  • A passing checksum shows that a value is well formed, not that it was issued to a real person. The examples on this page pass for that reason and are not real.
  • 2 of the 7 detectors here match on pattern alone (ID card / passport number and Postal code), so they can match text that merely has the same shape.
  • Detectors read the text of the request. A value inside an image is found only after OCR, and a value split across lines is not one match.
  • Names, addresses and free-text details are handled by other packs. This page is limited to the Germany identifiers.
